Shop builder or store platform
Shopify is built for selling first. On 9 October 2026 Shopify Basic was $29 a month paid yearly. Wix Core, the first Wix plan with online selling, was also $29 a month on a yearly plan.
The difference shows up as a shop grows. Shopify adds a 2% fee on Basic if you use a payment provider other than Shopify Payments. Wix also lets you build a site that's mostly content with a small shop, and has a free plan for trying it out.
