Alfie’s Guide
Editorial policy
The rules we hold ourselves to when we research, write and update.
Independence
Vendors cannot pay for a review, a ranking or a score. Paid placements, if we ever run any, are clearly labeled and kept away from editorial content.
Fact-checking
Facts about prices, plans and limits are captured from the vendor's public pages with the source and date. A person checks them before publication. Anything we cannot verify is left out or marked as unverified.
How AI is used
AI may help with drafting and summarising. It is never the source of a fact, a test result or a score. A human editor is accountable for every published page and signs it off. Test results and measurements are always real, and we do not generate reviews, testimonials or ratings.
No invented experience
We do not publish reviews or testimonials that describe an experience that did not happen, and we do not imply hands-on testing that did not take place. This follows the US FTC rule on fake reviews (16 CFR 465) and the UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act.
Conflicts of interest
We disclose affiliate relationships, free accounts and any financial interest in a product we cover.
When we update a page
We update a page when a price changes, a vendor changes its plans or terms, a product's model changes, or when its scheduled re-review date arrives. The last-updated date and price-checked date are shown on the page.
