Free plan against first-year discount
On 10 October 2026 Bitwarden had a free plan with unlimited passwords on unlimited devices, and its Premium plan cost $19.80 a year ($1.65 a month). 1Password had no free plan, only a 14-day trial. Its Individual plan was $4.99 a month billed monthly, or $2.99 a month billed yearly for the first year, renewing at $3.99.
For families, Bitwarden Families was $47.88 a year for up to 6 users. 1Password Families was $7.99 a month billed monthly, or $4.49 a month billed yearly in the first year and $5.99 after, for 5 people. Over several years Bitwarden costs a fraction of 1Password, and neither price above includes any later list-price rise.
